THE MAKING OF
JIM’S INTRODUCTION TO GENDER IDENTITY (2019)

Growing up as a young trans person, K lacked access to honest, factual resources to explore and understand their gender identity, so they turned to activism within the LGBTQ community and partnered with AMAZE to develop animated sex ed videos to fill the gap in information for trans youth.

Two years after Jim’s Introduction to Gender Identity premiered on YouTube, director/animator K. Kypers takes a look back at the production process and explains why it was a deeply personal project for her.
